Dr. Zaki Taher is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and is the founder and medical director of Lucere Dermatology & Laser Clinics, specializing in Medical & Cosmetic Dermatology services. After completing his Dermatology residency at the University of Alberta, Dr. Taher went on to complete a prestigious Fellowship at the University of Ottawa in Laser Surgery & Cosmetic Dermatology. His areas of special interest include general medical dermatology, precancers and skin cancer management, along with medical and cosmetic applications of lasers in cutaneous surgery and rejuvenation.
Dr. Taher is also an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta where he teaches medical students and dermatology residents. Dr. Taher is frequently invited to speak nationally and teach on advanced neuromodulator and filler injection techniques as well as laser and cosmetic surgery applications. He is very well known for his comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation.
Issan Sassi is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Lucere Dermatology & Laser Clinic. She has played a monumental role in the growth and expansion of Edmonton’s leading clinic, having merged her extensive background in health and marketing to develop, build, and nurture the brand from the ground up.
Issan started her own marketing services business, Sassi Consulting Inc. in 2012. She always had a special interest in the world of aesthetics, so she tailored her business to specialize in marketing for the spa industry. Issan spearheaded Sassi Consulting Inc., creating effective marketing strategies that delivered results and aided in growth for the brands she worked with. This led her to partner with Dr. Zaki Taher, to launch the medical cosmetics division for Lucere in 2014.
As the Executive Director & Marketing Director for Lucere, Issan has spent many years heading the company’s business affairs, operations, marketing, and overall strategy and brand development. She has proudly taken Lucere from a two-person team to a staff of 40 in just six short years. Issan continues to play an integral role in expanding the Lucere brand, launching a second location in downtown Edmonton in 2020.

The Thermage® System is a radiofrequency system indicated for non-invasive treatment of wrinkles and rhytids, including periorbital wrinkles and the upper and lower eyelids, as well as for temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
The Clear + Brilliant® system is a non-ablative laser indicated for general skin resurfacing.
Contraindications: The Thermage® System is contraindicated for use in patients with an implantable pacemaker, an automatic implantable cardioverter / defibrillator (AICD), or any other implantable electrical device, as these devices may be adversely affected by radiofrequency (RF) field or current.
